IBARAPA’S AJASA PICKS ACCORD PARTY SENATORIAL FORM FOR OYO SOUTH, SAYS “IT IS TIME FOR OUR ZONE”.

Alhaji (Hon.) Musibau Taofeek Adebare, popularly known as AJASA, on Friday, 8th May 2026, formally picked his Expression of Interest and Nomination forms to contest for the Oyo South Senatorial seat under the platform of the Accord Party (AP).

The event monitored by Asako news, held at the Accord Party State Secretariat in Ibadan, drew thousands of supporters from across the nine local government areas that make up Oyo South Senatorial District, with a strong presence from Ibarapa North, Central and East.

Speaking shortly after submitting his forms, Hon. Adebare described the move as a collective mandate driven by the people’s desire for equitable representation.
“I stand here today not just as Musibau Taofeek Adebare, but as the voice of thousands of our people who believe that every zone deserves a fair chance to serve. For too long, the Ibarapa zone has been on the sidelines in the political equation of Oyo South,” he said.

He noted that since the return to democracy in 1999, Ibarapa has produced a senator only once, Senator Peter Adeyemo, under the leadership of the late Justice Bola Ige of the Alliance for Democracy AD.
“This history reminds us of what is possible when leadership is deliberate about inclusion. Ibarapa has the human capacity, the political maturity, and the numbers to contribute meaningfully to the Senate of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Adebare added.
The senatorial aspirant expressed appreciation to the Accord Party leadership at the state and national levels for providing a platform that encourages grassroots participation and internal democracy. He also thanked his supporters who trooped out in large numbers from Ibadan, Ibarapa, and Ido LGAs to witness the submission.
Hon. Adebare urged party faithful and residents across Oyo South to rally behind the movement for fairness and balance in representation, stressing that 2027 presents a historic opportunity for Ibarapa to produce the next senator.
“This is not about me alone. It is about justice, inclusion, and giving Ibarapa a seat at the table where decisions affecting our future are made. The time for Ibarapa is now, and together we will make it happen,” he said.
He pledged that if elected, his priority would be legislation and interventions that address youth unemployment, agricultural development, infrastructure deficit, and improved healthcare access across the senatorial district.
Hon. Adebare called on the people to remain peaceful, law-abiding, and focused as the party moves into the next phase of its internal processes ahead of the 2027 general elections.
