IPU FELICITATES FORMER IFELOJU LG BOSS, ALHAJI MOSHOOD OLAYIDE ABASS ON BIRTHDAY

Describes Him As Pillar, Institution and Reference Point In Grassroots Governance

The Igbo-Ora Progressive Union (IPU) has celebrated one of its pillars and a renowned grassroots leader, Alhaji Moshood Olayide Abass, on the occasion of his birthday today, September 27, 2026.

Alhaji Abass was the former Executive Chairman of the defunct Ifeloju Local Government which later metamorphosed to the present Ibarapa Central Local Government, Igbo-Ora.

In a congratulatory message signed by its Media Officer, Tayo Akinyemi, the Union described Alhaji Abass as not just a member of IPU but an institution in community development and public service.

The statement noted that during his historic tenure as council boss of Ifeloju LG, Alhaji Abass demonstrated uncommon administrative acumen, political sagacity and selfless leadership, laying solid foundations for the present Ibarapa Central LG.

” You wrote your name in gold. You laid foundations, you opened roads, you built bridges of unity and you governed with the fear of God and love for the people. Your tenure remains a reference point for purposeful grassroots governance in Ibarapaland,” the IPU stated.

The Union further described him as a stabilizing force, a financial backbone, a wise counselor and a father-figure whose doors are always open for the progress of Igbo-Ora land, noting that he has never withheld his wealth of experience, resources and contacts whenever the call of community duty comes.

The felicitation was issued on behalf of the President of the Union, Pastor Alex Oladeji (JP), the National Interim Steering Council, Board of Trustees, Elders Council and the entire membership of IPU home and abroad.

The Union prayed Almighty Allah (SWT) to preserve Alhaji Abass in sound health, sound mind and abundant grace, and to reward his labours of love for Igbo-Ora with long life, more honour and greater peace.
