IBARAPA CENTRAL VICE CHAIRMAN, HON. RASHEED BABARINDE RESIGNS FROM PDP

The Vice Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Rasheed Babarinde, popularly known as Emilagba, has officially resigned his membership of the People’s Democratic Party PDP with immediate effect.

In a statement made available to Asako news dated 7th May, 2026, Hon. Babarinde said the decision followed a critical evaluation of the lingering internal crises within the party at both the state and federal levels. He noted that the crises have continued to undermine unity, weaken internal structures, and limit the party’s ability to function as a viable platform for progressive governance.

“Leadership demands clarity, stability, and purpose. At this point, it is necessary to take a principled stand that reflects my commitment to effective governance and the welfare of our people,” he stated.

Hon. Babarinde expressed appreciation to the PDP leadership and members for the opportunity to serve and for the support received during his time in the party.

He reaffirmed his dedication to grassroots development, responsive leadership, and the pursuit of policies that will improve the lives of the people of Ibarapa Central Local Government.

The vice chairman said further political steps and alignments would be made public in due course.
