APC WOMEN STORM IBARAPA CENTRAL, MOBILISE SUPPORT FOR TINUBU, ALLI, OLAONIYE, AMOO

Women supporters of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibarapa Central on Sunday 20th of September, 2026 staged a solidarity rally, converging at Igbole in Igboora before proceeding to Idere as part of the party’s grassroots mobilisation ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The rally, which attracted a large gathering of APC women and supporters, was convened by Yeye Mojibade Morantiola Adetona, who used the occasion to call on the women to remain united and support the party’s candidates across the various levels of government.

Addressing the gathering, Yeye Adetona urged the women to vote for the APC candidates, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, the party’s governorship candidate in Oyo State, Engr. Remi Oseni for Oyo South Senatorial District, Hon. Sarafadeen Olaoniye for Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, and Hon. Salau Tajudeen Amoo for Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency.

She said the rally was aimed at strengthening women’s participation in grassroots politics and mobilising support for the party ahead of the elections.

Yeye Adetona also spoke on the recent increase in fuel prices, attributing the development to the ongoing conflict involving Iran and broader disruptions in the international energy market. She stressed that the increase was not peculiar to Nigeria, noting that global energy markets had also been affected.

Recent reports have linked rising fuel and crude-oil prices to disruptions associated with the conflict in the Middle East, with international oil prices remaining above $100 per barrel in September 2026.

On governance, the APC women leader assured the gathering that the party’s governorship candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Alli, would, if elected, pursue policies aimed at strengthening local government administration and extending development to communities at the grassroots.

According to her, such an administration would prioritise infrastructure, accessible healthcare service, and effective representatio while ensuring that local communities benefit more directly from government programmes.

The rally later moved to Idere, where former Ibarapa Central Local Government Chairman, Hon. Olawoore Gbemilek joined the women and addressed the gathering.

Speaking to the mammoth crowd, Hon. Olawoore appealed to the electorate to support Hon. Sarafadeen Olaoniye, saying that his election to the House of Representatives would, in his view, provide an opportunity to address infrastructure challenges confronting the constituency.

He particularly cited the condition of roads in the area, assuring the gathering that roads affected by potholes would receive attention and rehabilitation under the proposed representation.

The solidarity rally formed part of ongoing grassroots mobilisation by APC supporters in Ibarapa ahead of the 2027 elections. APC activities in Oyo State have recently included women-focused mobilisation and campaigns for President Tinubu and Senator Sharafadeen Alli.

The women at the rally reaffirmed their commitment to grassroots mobilisation and called for greater participation of women in the political process across Ibarapa Central.
