WOMEN WILL HAVE A PLACE IN GOVERNMENT UNDER APC, ADETONA ASSURES IBARAPA NORTH WOMEN

APC Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader Leads Solidarity Rally Across Igangan, Tapa and Ayete, Advocates Local Government Autonomy for Grassroots Development

The APC Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader, Yeye Mojibade Morantiola Adetona, has assured women in Ibarapa North of inclusive governance under an APC-led administration, urging them to intensify grassroots mobilisation and rally support for all candidates of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The assurance came during a solidarity rally organised by APC women across the three major towns of Ibarapa North, beginning in Igangan, moving to Tapa, and culminating in Ayete, in a show of political engagement and mobilisation ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Addressing the women during the rally, Yeye Adetona called for unity, commitment and increased participation in the party’s grassroots activities, stressing that women remained important stakeholders in the political process.

She urged the women to take the APC’s message to their respective communities, mobilise eligible voters and work collectively towards the success of the party’s candidates at all levels.’

Adetona assured the gathering that women would be given opportunities to participate meaningfully in governance, emphasising that their contributions should extend beyond election campaigns and mobilisation.

According to her, women deserve recognition as vital partners in leadership, policy formulation and decision-making, considering their contributions to the party and the development of their communities.

She encouraged APC women to remain steadfast and united, expressing optimism that their continued involvement in the party would strengthen the call for greater female representation in government.

Speaking on the development challenges confronting Ibarapa, the APC women leader identified inadequate road construction and poor rural infrastructure as major concerns affecting communities across the area.

She expressed confidence that if Senator Sharafadeen Alli is elected Governor of Oyo State, his administration would grant local governments the autonomy necessary to perform their responsibilities effectively and accelerate development at the grassroots.

Adetona argued that local government autonomy would enable councils to respond more directly to the needs of their communities, particularly in the construction and rehabilitation of local roads.

She lamented the inadequate attention given to rural road infrastructure in Ibarapa, stressing that empowering local governments would improve their capacity to address community needs and facilitate development.

According to her, functional local government administration would bring governance closer to the people, improve service delivery and create opportunities for sustainable development across the area.

The APC Oyo South Senatorial Women Leader also criticised the present administration, accusing it of undermining governance and failing to adequately address the development challenges confronting the people.

She called for a renewed commitment to effective leadership, improved infrastructure and policies that would deliver tangible benefits to residents, particularly those in rural communities.

Adetona further urged APC women across Igangan, Tapa and Ayete to sustain grassroots mobilisation, strengthen unity within the party and encourage support for all APC candidates.
