BSA YOUTH VANGUARD STORMS AYETE, TAPA IN RALLY, ACCUSES APM OF FAILING IBARAPA NORTH

The Barrister Sharafadeen Alli (B.S.A.) Youth Vanguard in Ibarapa North has intensified its grassroots mobilisation for All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates, staging a rally from Ayete to Tapa on Saturday, October 17, 2026, while raising concerns over what it described as the poor state of development in the local government under the present administration.

The rally, which commenced at Baptist High School, Ayete, attracted a large gathering of youths and party supporters who marched towards Tapa to demonstrate their commitment to mobilising support for APC candidates ahead of the forthcoming elections.

Among those in attendance were the Ibarapa North Coordinator of the B.S.A. Youth Vanguard, Comr. Olaoniye Seun Samuel; the Tapa Coordinator, Okediran Micheal; and the Igangan Coordinator, Oguniyi Festus, alongside other members and supporters of the political movement.

Addressing the gathering, Comr. Olaoniye Seun Samuel assured APC leaders that youths across Ibarapa North were ready to mobilise support for the party’s candidates at the presidential, senatorial, federal and state levels.

He reaffirmed the group’s commitment to campaigning for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Oyo State governorship candidate Barr. Sharafadeen Alli, Oyo South Senatorial candidate Engr. Remi Oseni, Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency candidate Hon. Olaoniye Sharafadeen, and Oyo State House of Assembly candidate Hon. Tajudeen Amoo.

The coordinator, however, used the occasion to criticise the present administration’s performance, particularly in electricity supply, road infrastructure, education and other essential areas of development.

He lamented that Ibarapa North had allegedly experienced little meaningful development since the APC left power at the state level, arguing that residents continued to face significant infrastructure challenges.

In one of his sharpest criticisms, Comr. Olaoniye described the streetlights installed in the area as what he considered the most visible achievement of the APM administration, alleging that the lights were no longer functioning and had instead become structures used to hang political banners.

According to him, the situation raised questions about the quality, functionality and sustainability of projects being presented as achievements by the present administration.

He further questioned the utilisation of local government funds, claiming that monthly allocations reportedly reached at least ₦500 million, yet residents were still struggling with inadequate roads, poor educational infrastructure and other basic amenities.

The coordinator maintained that previous APC leaders had recorded more impressive achievements while holding political offices, urging residents to consider the party’s record and promises as they prepare to make their choices at the polls.

His remarks placed the performance of the current administration, the utilisation of public funds and the need for visible grassroots development at the centre of the rally’s political message.

At Tapa, the Ibarapa North Campaign Manager, Hon. Liasu Ololade, joined the gathering and expressed profound appreciation to the youths for organising the rally.

He commended their enthusiasm and turnout, describing the initiative as a demonstration of their commitment to political participation and grassroots mobilisation.

Ololade also questioned the impact of local government allocations, stating that councils reportedly received monthly allocations of at least ₦500 million, with some receiving even higher amounts.

He argued that such resources should translate into visible improvements in rural roads, education, healthcare and other essential services at the grassroots.
Drawing from his experience as a former caretaker chairman of Ibarapa North Local Government, Ololade recalled that the council received considerably smaller allocations during his tenure, yet efforts were made to construct local roads.
He used the comparison to stress the importance of accountability, prudent financial management and the effective utilisation of public resources for the benefit of residents.

The campaign manager also highlighted Barr. Sharafadeen Alli’s commitment to granting local governments greater autonomy if elected governor, describing the promise as an important step towards strengthening grassroots administration and enabling councils to respond more effectively to community needs.
