Olu of Igboora Bags Honorary Doctorate, Palace Renovation Unveiled

The Olu of Igboora and Deputy Chairman Oyo State Council of Obas, His Royal Majesty, Oba Dr Jimoh Titiloye, Asoroolu Ayinla V, was on Wednesday, 25th March 2026, conferred with Honorary Doctorate Degree (HONORIS CAUSA) by Foxford University, Canada. The monarch was equally inducted as the Grand Patron of the Institute of Strategic Managers. The event, which took place at the Olu of Igboora ultra-modern palace, was attended by Congregations from Foxford University and the Nigeria Institute of Strategic Management, member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr Adebayo Adepoju, Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sola Adeleke, Traditional rulers across the State, and members of the Igboora Progress Union.

In the same vein, the newly renovated Olu of Igboora ultra-modern palace has been officially commissioned by the Ibarapa Central Local Government. The ultra-modern palace, built in 2014, was renovated by the Ibarapa Central Local Government under the Hon. Sola Adeleke-led administration.

In his official address, the Executive Chairman, Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sola Adeleke, appreciated the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde, for graciously giving approval for the renovation and several other developmental projects embarked upon by his administration. He acknowledged the support and laudable roles of the Oyo State Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Hon. Ademola Ojo.

Hon. Adeleke affirmed that the newly renovated palace will further enhance the prestige of the Olu of Igboora and also preserve Yoruba culture and traditions.

In separate reactions, the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Oba Samuel Adegbola, Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Oyeniyi Olabisi, Onidere of Idere, Ashingangan of Igangan, and Oluaso of Iberekodo eulogized the special recognition enjoyed by traditional rulers under the current administration of Governor Seyi Makinde.

The monarchs appreciated the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, and the Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, for adding dignity to royal stools.

The President of Igboora Progress Union (IPU), Pastor Alex Oladeji, who was represented by the Vice President (Lagos), Alhaji Moshood Salami, congratulated Oba Titiloye and the entire Igboora community on the triple honors bestowed on the monarch.

Alhaji Salami reminisced on several developmental efforts of the IPU since its resuscitation after almost three decades, varying from restoration of electricity, health outreach, security, and several programs in the pipeline. He sought full cooperation to take the Igboora community to greater heights.

In his remarks, member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr Adebayo Adepoju, eulogized the giant strides of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Seyi Makinde, in promoting cultural and traditional institutions in the state.

He appreciated the Honorable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, and the Executive Chairman, Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sola Adeleke, for the laudable achievement in the renovation and beautification of the Olu of Igboora Palace.

In his appreciation, the Olu of Igboora, Oba Dr Jimoh Titiloye, sent his gratitude to the Oyo State Governor, Eng. Seyi Makinde, whom he described as a listening Governor whose contribution to the preservation of Yoruba culture and traditions is immense. The monarch appreciated the Hon. Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Executive Chairman, Ibarapa Central Local Government, and all traditional rulers who came across the State to grace the occasion.
