OLU OF IGBO-ORA APPRECIATES ALAAFIN’S PRESENCE, CONDEMNS HOOLIGAN ATTACK AT TWINS FESTIVAL

The Olu of Igbo-Ora Land, His Royal Majesty, Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye (Asoroolu Ayinla V), on behalf of the gbo-Ora Traditional Rulers Council and the good people of Igbo-Ora, has extended heartfelt appreciation to His Imperial Majesty, Iku Baba Yeye, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, the Alaafin of Oyo, for honouring the community’s invitation and graciously serving as the Royal Father of the Day at the Grand Finale of the 2025 World Twins Festival, held on Saturday, October 11, 2025, at the Methodist Grammar School playground, Igbo-Ora.

Kabiyesi described the Alaafin’s presence as a rare honour and blessing not only to the people of Igbo-Ora but to the entire Ibarapa region, noting that his royal attendance added great colour, dignity, and historical significance to the globally recognized event, which continues to celebrate Yoruba culture and position Igbo-Ora as the World Capital of Twins

Reacting to the disturbing act of hooliganism that occurred during the departure of the Alaafin’s entourage, the Olu of Igbo-Ora strongly condemned the unruly behaviour, describing it as a disgraceful act unbefitting of the peaceful and hospitable people of Igbo-Ora. He assured that community leaders and security agencies have swung into action, and the perpetrators will be apprehended and brought to justice to serve as a deterrent to others.

Oba Titiloye reaffirmed the commitment of the Igbo-Ora Traditional Rulers Council to sustaining peace, unity, and order within the town. He once again expressed deep gratitude to the Alaafin of Oyo for his fatherly love, guidance, and continued support for the entire Ibarapa region.

The monarch concluded with prayers for long life, sound health, and a glorious reign for His Imperial Majesty, Oba Akeem Abimbola Owoade, wishing him divine wisdom and strength as he continues to uphold the legacy of his forefathers.
