PORTABLE OUT, PASO IGBOORA AND CIRCULAR IN AS IGBOORA WORLD TWINS FESTIVAL HOLDS TODAY 

The much-anticipated 2025 Igboora World Twins Festival holds today in the world’s acclaimed Home of Twins, Igboora, Oyo State with organizers confirming the replacement of controversial artiste Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, with respected indigenous entertainers.

Following weeks of public criticism and consultations with royal fathers and community elders, the festival’s organizing committee announced that Alhaji Muri Sholebo (Paso Igboora) and Adeboye Adetona (Circular) will now headline the entertainment segment of the celebration.

In a statement made available to the press, the committee said the decision was reached “to uphold peace, strengthen security, and preserve the moral and cultural values for which the Twins Festival is globally known.”

The statement further assured residents, tourists, and invited guests that this year’s edition will feature improved organization, tight security, and a strong focus on promoting indigenous creativity and unity within Ibarapa land.

The decision follows widespread reactions from indigenes and cultural stakeholders — including the Igboora Consultative Forum (ICF) — who had earlier condemned Portable’s invitation, describing it as inconsistent with the ideals of the festival.

ICF Chairman, Fidelis Adebisi Adeniran, had maintained that the festival should remain “a platform for peace, growth, and moral rejuvenation, not one that glorifies indiscipline or controversy.”

Meanwhile, community voices have applauded the organizers for listening to public concerns and taking swift corrective action. The inclusion of Paso Igboora and Circular, both proud sons of the soil, has been widely hailed as a step that restores dignity to the event and promotes homegrown talent.

As the global celebration unfolds today, all eyes are on Igboora, not only as the World’s Home of Twins but as a community reaffirming its commitment to culture, morality, and unity through the 2025 Twins Festival.
