“NO CONCESSION, NO VACANCY”: PDP’S DAUDA QAMARDEEN DEBUNKS CLAIMS BY MURAINA, SOLIU LAWAL OVER IBARAPA TICKETS
The Candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ibarapa Central and North has dismissed reports claiming that former APC chieftains, Hon. Dr. Muraina Ajibola Esq. and Hon. Soliu Lawal Adelodun, have been conceded the party’s tickets for the 2027 elections.
In an exclusive interview with Asako News, another PDP candidate for Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency, Hon. Dauda Qamardeen Tunde, described the claims as false and misleading.

“PRIMARIES DONE, CERTIFICATES ISSUED”
Reacting to the report credited to Hon. Soliu Lawal Adelodun, Hon. Dauda on behalf of other candidates said the PDP had long concluded its primaries and issued Certificates of Return to all candidates.
“This is not true at all. As everybody knows that Primaries have been done. The certificate of return has also been issued to all candidates. Likewise, the candidates’ data has also been uploaded to the INEC portal,” he stated.

“So, such people parading themselves as PDP candidates are doing so at their own peril. They’ve lost in one party. Running to another to see if they can hijack it will not work.”
He further presented evidence, saying:
“These are pictures of PDP candidates when we received our certificate of return.”
PDP CANDIDATES FOR IBARAPA
When asked to name the authentic PDP flagbearers, Hon. Dauda listed:
– Governorship: His Excellency, Alhaji Azeem Gbolarumi
– House of Representatives, Ibarapa Central/North: Hon. Rasaki Haruna Abiola
– House of Assembly, Ibarapa Central/North: Hon. Dauda Qamardeen Tunde_ — himself
“NO ONE CAN STEAL OUR MANDATE”
In his message to supporters and the people of Ibarapa Central and North, Hon. Dauda urged calm and unity.

“Firstly, I want all my followers and the people of Ibarapa Central and North Constituency to know that, no one can steal our mandate. We remain committed to the mandate given to us. We won’t disappoint anyone,”_ he said.
“Also, keep on working. We would surely emerge victorious. We are refined politicians that know what we need in our constituency. We would serve better without losing focus.”
BACKGROUND
This is coming moments after reports emerged that Hon. Dr. Muraina Ajibola, a 3-term former Rep member, and Hon. Soliu Lawal Adelodun, the 2023 APC Assembly candidate, had defected to the PDP to pursue tickets for House of Representatives and State Assembly respectively, after losing out in the APC.
The PDP candidates in the constituency has however made it clear that its candidates have been decided and there is no room for fresh imposition.
Political observers say the development signals early tension within the PDP in Ibarapa as defectors from the APC seek accommodation ahead of 2027.
