Gabriel Timileyin Micheal, popularly known as GTMIKE, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate for the Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, has challenged party faithful to embrace a new direction in political representation, declaring that his emergence presents an opportunity to change the established pattern of representation in the constituency.

GTMIKE made this declaration yesterday during his ongoing ward-to-ward consultation visits, which took him to Wards 1 and 2 of the ZLP in Ibarapa North, where he appealed to party members to support his aspiration to represent the constituency in the House of Representatives.

Addressing party faithful during the visits, GTMIKE argued that the constituency needed a fresh approach to representation, expressing concern that successive representatives had not brought the level of change he believed the people deserved.

He urged members to recognise the potential of younger leaders to contribute meaningfully to governance and development, presenting his candidacy as an opportunity to pursue a different approach to public service.

According to him, his ambition is not merely to occupy a political office but to build on his existing contributions to the lives of people across Ibarapa Central and North.

Hon. Timileyin maintained that his commitment to community development predates his current political ambition, citing the humanitarian activities of his foundation as evidence of his continued interest in the welfare of the people.

He disclosed that, despite his limited resources, he was currently sponsoring the education of more than 20 students, describing the initiative as part of his efforts to support young people and expand access to educational opportunities.

GTMIKE emphasised that supporting students and assisting people in need remained important aspects of his commitment to society, adding that he hoped to extend such interventions through more effective representation if elected.

He urged party members to consider his record of community engagement and humanitarian service as they assessed his candidacy.

Speaking further, GTMIKE called for a departure from what he described as the repetitive pattern of political representation in the constituency.

He maintained that the people needed representation that would prioritise their interests, respond to their concerns, and pursue meaningful development rather than simply reproduce existing political practices.

He expressed confidence that, given the opportunity to serve in the House of Representatives, he would work towards changing the status quo and advancing a more people-oriented approach to representation.

The candidate also appealed to the party faithful to remain united and committed as his consultation visits continue across the constituency.

The candidate was accompanied on the visits by key party officials, including Apostle Gbemileke Akintola Micheal, ZLP Chairman in Ibarapa North; Mr Sunday Adedokun, ZLP Coordinator in Tapa; and Mr Temidayo Alabi, ZLP Youth Coordinator.
