Gabriel Timileyin Micheal, popularly known as GTMIKE, the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) candidate for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, has cautioned against unfulfilled political promises, declaring that “promises without action lead to emptiness” during a meeting with the leadership of the Ayete Progressive Union (APU), led by its president, Hon. Kewulere Mukaram, where he reaffirmed that his contributions to community development predate his political ambition.

During the meeting, GTMIKE cautioned against excessive political promises that could leave communities disappointed when they fail to translate into tangible results. He maintained that meaningful leadership should be measured by practical contributions to society rather than campaign rhetoric.

The ZLP candidate further disclosed that his commitment to the development of Ayete predated his current political ambition, noting that he had contributed to the community without making politics the motivation for his actions.

He also revealed that he had declined political offers from several parties, particularly the Accord Party and the All Progressives Congress (APC), before settling on his present political platform.

According to him, his position reflects his belief that community service should be a continuous responsibility rather than an activity reserved for election periods.

Speaking at the meeting, Apostle Gbemileke Akintola Micheal, Chairman of the ZLP in Ibarapa North, called on members of the Ayete Progressive Union to support Senator Oluwasegun Theophilus Oladimeji in his aspiration to represent Oyo South Senatorial District.

He highlighted the senator’s empowerment initiatives and expressed the view that his election to the Senate would provide an opportunity to extend such efforts to more people.

Apostle Akintola urged community members to support the senator’s ambition, emphasising the importance of leadership that prioritises people’s welfare and community development.

The ZLP chairman also drew attention to the tourism potential of Isamuni Hills, calling for concerted efforts to promote the site as a global tourism destination.

He noted that developing and promoting the attraction could create opportunities for tourism-related businesses, generate employment, attract visitors, and stimulate economic activities in Ayete and neighbouring communities.
