AYETE AGOG AS AKOREDE IS TURBANED FIRST AARE MUSULUMI OF AYETE-LAND

The ancient town of Ayete, headquarters of Ibarapa North Local Government, was in a joyous mood on Saturday, August 29, 2026, as Hon. Lateef Adebare Lawal, popularly known as Akorede and Executive Chairman of the Council, was turbaned as the first Aare Musulumi of Ayete-land.

The historic turbaning ceremony was organized by the Ayete Muslim Community and held at the premises of Baptist High School, Ayete. The event drew dignitaries, clerics, political leaders and residents who thronged the venue to witness the milestone.

Alongside the council chairman, other prominent indigenes were also conferred with chieftaincy titles in recognition of their contributions to Islam and the community:

Alhaji Galib Jimoh– _Giwa Adini of Ayete-land,
Chief Shittu Najeemdeen -Majeobaje Adini of Ayete-land
Alhaja Nimotallahi Rasheed – Otun Iya Adini of Ayete-land,
Mr. Haruna Oguntoye –Balogun Adini of Ayete-land
Alhaji Asimiyu Alawode – Jagunmolu Adini of Ayete-land

Delivering the guest lecture titled _‘Reward for Honesty’, renowned Islamic preacher Sheikh (Alhaji) Jamiu Aminolorun emphasized the virtue of truthfulness in Islam.

Quoting the Prophet Muhammad (SAW), he said:
“You must be truthful, for truthfulness leads to righteousness, and righteousness leads to Paradise.” (Sahih Bukhari & Muslim)

Sheikh Aminolorun charged Muslims to uphold honesty in their dealings, saying Allah rewards the truthful both in this world and the hereafter.

The Father of the Day, Hon. Adedeji Stanley Olajide (Odidiomo) and member representing Ibadan North-West/Ibadan South-West Federal Constituency, was represented by his Personal Assistant, Alhaji Ganiyu Oloyede (Akamo).

Odidiomo donated ₦1 million to the Ayete Muslim Community and pledged to facilitate the establishment of an ICT Centre in Ayete to empower youths.

The ceremony attracted top political and traditional leaders including:
Hon. Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapakan), Member, House of Representatives; Hon. Peter Gbadegesin, Member, Oyo State House of Assembly; Hon. Sikiru Sanda, Oyo State ALGON Chairman; Hon. Wasilat Adegoke, Commissioner for Youth and Sports; Hon. Olusola Adeleke, Chairman, Ibarapa Central LG; Hon. Kehinde Akande, Chairman, Ibadan South-West LG; Hon. Yemi Taiwo, former Rep member; and Hon. Majekodunmi Aborode, former Commissioner for Environment.

Royal fathers present were Oba Ewuola Okeniyi, Asawo of Ayete; Oba Rafiu Ariwoola, Asigangan of Igangan; and Oba Sunday Titiloye, Elempe of Tapa.

Guests were entertained by Islamic Fuji star, Alhaji AbdulAzeez, popularly known as Saoty Arewa.

Community leaders described the turbaning of Hon. Akorede as a well-deserved honour and a call to greater service for Islam and Ayete-land.
