Emulate the lessons of Ramadan beyond Ramadan: Do good, spread peace, and prepare for the inevitable Day of Judgement. Cleric calls at Saganun Ramadan lecture

The Saganun community in Ibarapa Central Local Government area of Oyo State hosted its Ramadan lecture on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at the Onisaganun of Saganun Palace. The event brought together traditional rulers, Muslim faithfuls, and Islamic clerics to promote peace, unity, and good moral conduct.

Onisaganun of Saganun, Oba Fasasi Adekunle Jinadu, welcomed guests and appreciated the presence of Igboora traditional rulers and Muslim faithfuls. He prayed for the community’s unity and progress, urging Muslims to practice peace and joy during Ramadan.

Olu of Igboora, Oba Jimoh Titiloye and other traditional rulers, praised Allah for the peace experienced during Ramadan and encouraged youths to adopt the spirit of peace, unity, and good moral conduct.

The guest lecturer, Fadilat Sheikh Muhd. Yakub Mustopha Onikeke, spoke on “Yaomal Qiyamat (Day of Judgement),” citing Quran verse 99:6-8: “On that Day, people will come forward in separate groups to be shown their deeds: whoever has done an atom’s weight of good will see it, but whoever has done an atom’s weight of evil will see that”.

He urged attendees to do good in this life to secure peace on judgement day.

Notable attendees included Oluaso of Iberekodo, Oba Jamiu Badmos, Babaaso of Iberekodo-Igbole, Oba Joshua Ojo, and Onidofin of Idofin, Oba Samuel Adeleye. Islamic clerics present included Imam Ligali Adebayo, Chief Imam of Saganun, Imam Suliman Olagoke, Chief Imam of Idofin, several Islamic societies and Saganun Community President, Mr. Adebisi.
