The President of Igboora Progress Union (IPU), Pastor Alex Oladeji (JP), and members of the IPU Steering Council has extended felicitations to Igboora Muslim and Christian faithfuls on the commencement of Ramadan and Lent fasting period.

In a statement signed by the IPU media officer, Tayo Akinyemi, dated 18th February, 2026, the Pastor Alex Oladeji led steering Council prayed the blessed month bring peace, spiritual growth, and joy to all and strengthen individuals’ faith.

According to the statement:

“The President of Igboora Progress Union, Pst Alex Oladeji(JP), on behalf of the Executive Council & members of the Union, extend warmest wishes to our Muslim brothers and sisters on the commencement of Ramadan, corresponding to the first day of Ramadan 1447AH. May this blessed month bring peace, spiritual growth and joy to all.

“In like manner, we acknowledge the commencement of the Lenten season with the observation of Ash Wednesday today and felicitate our Christian brethren who are indigenes of Igboora. May this period draw you closer to God and build you up spiritually and other ways.

“We should not allow the significance of the convergence of the two spiritual exercises referenced above to be lost on us. Therefore, we are enjoined to take ample time to pray for ourselves, our families as well as Nigeria (and the country each of us lives in), our state, our dear Igboora and the town/city of our residence, that peace will reign supreme now and always.

“We celebrate the values of compassion, self-discipline, and humility that both Ramadan and Lent embody. May these values inspire us to work together for the development of Igboora,”, the statement concluded.
