IPU CONGRATULATES MR. MODIU LAWAL OLALEKAN ON HIS DECORATION AS MAYOR, LASTMA, LAGOS STATE

The President, Igboora Progress Union (IPU), Pastor Alex Oladeji (JP) and members of the Interim Steering Council has congratulated and rejoiced with one of her illustrious sons, *Mr. Modiu Lawal Olalekan*, on his decoration as _Mayor, Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA)_ on Wednesday, 29th April 2026.

The decoration ceremony was performed by the General Manager of LASTMA, Mr. Oki Bakare Olalekan, in Lagos State.

In a statement signed by the IPU media officer, Tayo Akinyemi, dated 30th April, 2026, IPU described the attainment as remarkable and a testament to Mr. Lawal’s dedication, discipline and outstanding service in traffic management and public safety.

According to the statement:

“As an indigene of Igboora, he continues to make our community proud by upholding the values of _Omoluabi_ – integrity, hard work and excellent service to humanity for which Igboora is known globally.

“The IPU notes that this honor not only recognises Mr. Lawal’s personal commitment but also reflects positively on Igboora as a town that produces responsible and distinguished citizens who excel in all fields of human endeavour.

“We are confident that in his new capacity as Mayor, LASTMA, Mr. Olalekan Lawal will bring renewed passion to bear on ensuring order, safety and efficient traffic control in Lagos State. His elevation serves as an inspiration to the teeming youth of Igboora that honour and recognition await those who display excellence and diligence in service.

“The National President of IPU, Pastor Alex Oladeji (JP) and the Interim Steering Council also commend Mr. Oki Bakare Olalekan, GM LASTMA, for recognising merit and dedication through this decoration of our son.
