Hon. Olaoniye Sharafadeen, popularly known as Biibire, the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for the Ibarapa Central/North Federal Constituency, has reaffirmed his commitment to neutrality in traditional and community-related matters, dismissing rumours suggesting that he would support Idere against Ayete in the ongoing land dispute between the two communities.

Bibire made this clarification during a meeting facilitated by Hon. Shittu Liasu Ololade between him and members of the Oloba family in Ayete, led by Kasabubu. The meeting was convened to address the rumours, clear misconceptions, and reassure the family of Bibire’s position on the sensitive matter.

During the engagement, Bibire stated that throughout his involvement in politics and his occupation of various political positions, he had consistently maintained a clear boundary regarding three sensitive areas: land disputes, chieftaincy matters and religious affairs.

According to him, these are issues he has never interfered with and would not interfere with, irrespective of the political circumstances or interests involved.

His clarification was aimed at dispelling concerns within the Oloba family and addressing speculation about his alleged position on the land disagreement between Ayete and Idere.

The meeting also provided an opportunity for open dialogue, allowing the family to hear directly from Bibire and seek clarification on the claims circulating about him.

Hon. Liasu Ololade’s intervention in facilitating the meeting underscored the importance of dialogue and constructive engagement in addressing sensitive community concerns and preventing rumours from creating unnecessary tension among stakeholders.

At the conclusion of the meeting, both parties had engaged in what was described as a productive discussion, with the clarification helping to address the concerns that necessitated the gathering.
