It was a massive show of force for the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in Ibarapa zone today as the Oyo State Governorship candidate, His Excellency, Bar. Azeem Gbolarumi, joined forces with the party’s House of Representatives candidate for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Muraina Saubana Ajibola Esq., to meet with party faithfuls at the Igboora Town Hall.

The meeting, attended by PDP State Executives lead by the party chairman, Prof. Rahman Akinoso, Ibarapa Local Governments executives, candidates and party leaders, was aimed at mobilizing support ahead of the forthcoming general elections.

Addressing a mammoth crowd of supporters, Hon. Dr. Muraina Ajibola, a 3-term former member of the House of Representatives and current PDP candidate, appealed to voters in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North to consider his track record both in and out of office.

He reeled out key projects he facilitated during his time in the National Assembly, including:
1.  The pending Police Headquarters at Ayete.
2.  The proposed Federal Medical Centre at Igboora.
3.  Multiple empowerment programs across the constituency
4.  Three power transmission projects at Igangan, Igboora and Lanlate, which he said he single-handedly facilitated.

However, the former lawmaker alleged that the implementation of these projects has been stalled.

According to Hon. Muraina, the current member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency,  Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju popularly known as “Ibarapa kan”, instituted a probe  that halted the power transmission projects and other federal projects he had attracted. He noted that the projects were “on top gear for approval and implementation” before the intervention.

“I have paid my dues to deserve your support at the general elections. With this, I will be able to actualize these developments,” Muraina declared to loud cheers from supporters.

The Oyo State PDP flagbearer, Bar. Azeem Gbolarumi, who also addressed the gathering, urged party members to remain united and work hard to reclaim all elective positions in the state.

The event marks one of the first major joint campaign outings for the PDP in Ibarapa zone ahead of 2027.
