HON. SHITTU LIASU OLOLADE CONGRATULATES PROF. PETER OLAMILEKAN OLAPEGBA ON APPOINTMENT AS UI’S 14TH VICE-CHANCELLOR

Hon. Shittu Liasu Ololade has extended his heartfelt congratulations to Professor Peter Olamilekan Olapegba on his appointment as the 14th Vice-Chancellor of the University of Ibadan, describing the achievement as a historic milestone and a source of immense pride for the people of Ibarapa.

In a congratulatory message, Hon. Ololade noted that Professor Olapegba’s appointment is not only a personal accomplishment but also a significant honour for the entire Ibarapa region, as both of them proudly hail from the same land renowned for producing distinguished leaders and professionals.

According to Ololade, the appointment is a clear recognition of Professor Olapegba’s outstanding academic excellence, exemplary leadership, administrative competence, and unwavering commitment to the advancement of higher education in Nigeria.

He stated that the emergence of an illustrious son of Ibarapa as the Vice-Chancellor of Nigeria’s premier university is a testament to the intellectual capacity, resilience, and excellence for which the people of Ibarapa are known.

“Your appointment is a source of great joy and pride to every son and daughter of Ibarapa. It is a well-deserved recognition of your years of dedication, hard work, and invaluable contributions to academia. I am confident that your wealth of experience and visionary leadership will take the University of Ibadan to greater heights.”

Hon. Ololade further prayed that God Almighty would grant Professor Olapegba divine wisdom, strength, sound health, and guidance to successfully pilot the affairs of the University of Ibadan and leave a lasting legacy of excellence.

He also expressed optimism that Professor Olapegba’s tenure would be marked by academic innovation, institutional growth, impactful research, and transformational leadership that would further strengthen the reputation of the University of Ibadan both nationally and internationally.

Hon. Ololade concluded by wishing the newly appointed Vice-Chancellor a fruitful and successful tenure, while expressing hope that the achievement would inspire more young people from Ibarapa to pursue excellence and contribute meaningfully to the development of society.
