The African Democratic Congress ADC has secured a major legal victory after the Federal High Court in Abuja ruled in favour of the party in Suit No: FHC/ABJ/CS/S81/2026 on 29th April 2026.

Reacting to the judgment, the Oyo State Youth Leader of the ADC, Hon. Niyi Ogunbowale, congratulated the party’s national and state leadership, describing the ruling as a victory for democracy, party unity, and the rule of law.

“This ruling reaffirms that the ADC is built on due process and internal democracy. It clears the way for the party to focus on its core mandate of providing credible leadership and people-oriented governance to Nigerians,” Hon. Ogunbowale said.

Speaking as both an indigene and the party leader in Ibarapa Zone, he expressed confidence that the ADC will emerge victorious in the 2027 general elections across Ibarapa and the wider Oyo State. According to him, the party remains the only credible and acceptable platform for the people of the state, owing to its commitment to youth inclusion, grassroots development, and good governance.

He urged all party faithful in Oyo State to rally round the leadership of the State Party Chairman, Hon. Yinka Olona, and the Party Leader, Bar. Niyi Aborisade, in order to strengthen the party’s structure ahead of the polls.

“The time for division is over. We must now work together as one family to reclaim Oyo State for the people. Ibarapa is ADC territory and come 2027, we will prove it at the ballot box,” he added.

Hon. Ogunbowale also called on members to intensify grassroots mobilization and voter education, noting that the party’s strength lies in its connection with the people at the ward and polling unit levels.

The ADC leadership crisis had threatened party cohesion in recent months, but the court’s ruling is expected to restore confidence among members and supporters nationwide.
