IBARAPA NEEDS URGENT ATTENTION ON INSECURITY AND DECLINING INFRASTRUCTURE………Tayo Akinyemi
IBARAPA!
A safest community, now coming under insecurity challenges. I remember how we grew up in an environment with our doors opened, I remember how we sleep outside our houses with our two eyes closed.
A community once called the food basket of the country, now declining economically.
This is our reality – a reality ignored by those who have the power to change it.
It is highly disappointing we found ourselves in the current ugly situation in Ibarapa; ranging from poorest road network, permanent seizure of electricity supply , absence of state government’s meaningful infrastructure, high inflationary economy and the current security challenges.
There are questions lobbying answers:
1. Have our forefathers who conjoined us to this marriage of inconvenience done us good or for a personal gain? Currently, every other zones are clamouring for strong representation in the State leadership and even state creation. Not yet a joint decision from our representatives.
2. We have Speaker of the State House of Assembly from this zone? Do we still have power brokers within the ruling PDP in the State? What has been their feasible efforts to get the attention of the State Governor in addressing these challenges? To be honest, I blame not the Governor, we should blame our personalities who claims they wine and dine with the Governor; never the less, we still need to blame our Governor for neglecting us when we needed him most.
3. What is the budget implications of the worn-out cables and concrete poles reported to have been the cause of the total black out in the zone that our elected law makers: Senator Sarafa Abiodun Alli, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju and Hon. P.G Ojedokun can not meet their joint constituency projects?
4. Does the 2 local government chairmen of the affected areas : Hon. Sola Adeleke (Ibarapa Central), Hon. Lateef Akorede (Ibarapa North) have the financial resources to face the project considering the reality of the insincere meagre resources the Almighty State government dashes to them from the real federal allocation?
5. If working on meaningful individuals interventions, will they be given an enabling environment to liberate? I am sure of this answer , our sentimental politics would have crash the intention even before bringing to table . What a very unpatriotic situation?
The current insecurity challenge is also a major call for urgent action. As an insider, our royal fathers works days and nights to curtail the horrible situation despite the challenges of the constituted security networks. There is need for us as indigenes to mobilize for Security Trust Fund as it is now a reality that Ibarapa is no longer on the map of Oyo State.
We call on the executive governor of Oyo State, H.E Eng. Oluseyi Makinde to yield to our cry. We acknowledged his promise of completion of the Eruwa Ido road within 11 months, but personally we believe with a passionate attention, the project can get completed under 2 – 3 months as done in other zones. I remember same promise was made through the deputy governor, H.E. Bar. Bayo Lawal at the Igboora Twins festival almost a year ago. Other linking roads within the region continues deteriorating, we need proper attention as being done in Ibadan and other zones.
We humbly request our beloved governor’s personal attention to our long overdue worn out electricity supply gadgets responsible for over 5 years non electricity in major parts of the region. Findings revealed that this situation alone is leading our teaming youths into crime, making it more alarming.
His Excellency is equally, humbly appealed to beef up Ibarapa’s security architecture to complement our royal fathers efforts to curtail our insecurity challenges.
Our esteemed law makers: Senator Sarafa Abiodun Alli (Oyo South), Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju (Ibarapa Central & North federal constituency) should as a matter of urgency come back to us NOW! This is the time we need you to use our legitimate resources for us. These are our challenging areas that needs to be mend with our share of the subsidy removal grants as claimed my the federal government.
Our State House of Assembly member, Hon. Peter Ojedokun should stop being an absentee leader. We deserve meaningful efforts , to face these challenges.
Our beloved royal fathers still needs to intensify efforts on the current harsh economy. We produce raw Agricultural foods in large quantities for consumption, and supplies 3 major states at cheaper prices, but highly embarrassing we sell at higher prices to ourselves at retail price. Transportation price rate is higher than any area across the country. We need an urgent action on a customary price control as these are affecting our farmers who works days and nights on the farm without government support as being done in the Northern States.
‘Omo Eleran wa wa nje Egungun; o ma se o’.
Sincerely, we are not just a neglected community; we are citizens deserving of dignity and basic services.
We raise our voices for urgent liberation from poor infrastructure!
We demand immediate restoration of our electricity supply since 5 years!
We demand immediate action to curtail insecurity in Ibarapa and bring the culprits to book!
We demand action. We call for change.
Lastly, I call on every Ibarapa indigenes, we can not rebuild our community and restore hope by standing aloof, we must speak out and our voices will surely be heard loud and clear.
Ibarapas are not a second class citizens!
God bless Oyo State!
God bless Ibarapa region!
