Sarafa Olaoniye emerged APC flagbeerer, to face incumbent, Hon. Anthony Adepoju in 2027.

The former Caretaker Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye, has emerged as the All Progressives Congress APC flagbearer for Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency.

According to _OYOINSIGHT.COM_, Olaoniye’s name was listed among other successful candidates who emerged winners at the just-concluded APC primary elections held across the country on Saturday, 16th May 2026.

The report confirmed that Olaoniye will be contesting for the federal seat for the first time. He is among four aspirants in Oyo State seeking to debut in the House of Representatives, alongside Umar-Farouk Alao for Ibadan North, Saheed Adejare Yusuf for Kajola/Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Iwajowa, and Ibraheem Olayode Iyiola for Ibadan North East/Ibadan South East.

Other Oyo APC candidates announced include:

Akeem Adeyemi– AFIJIO/Atiba/Oyo East/Oyo West, seeking a fourth term

Tajudeen Abisodun Kareem– ATISBO/Saki East/Saki West, seeking a fourth term

Olusegun Odebunmi– Ogo-Oluwa/Surulere, seeking a fourth term

Akinola Alabi– Egbeda/Ona Ara, seeking a third term

Tolulope Akande-Sadipe– Oluyole, seeking a third term

<Bosun Oladele– Irepo/Olorunsogo/Orelope, seeking a second term

Folake Olunloyo-Osinowo – Ibadan North West/Ibadan South West, seeking a second term

Olamiju Alao-Akala – Ogbomoso North/Ogbomoso South/Orire, seeking a second term

Olafisoye Akinmoyede – Akinyele/Lagelu, seeking a second term

The APC candidate for Ido/Ibarapa East is yet to be announced.

With his emergence, Hon. Sarafa Olaoniye is set for a direct contest with the incumbent member representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, Hon. Dr. Anthony Adebayo Adepoju, who will be running under the umbrella of the APM in the 2027 general elections.

The APC primary in Ibarapa Central/North was one of the most closely watched in the state, featuring six aspirants who had earlier purchased and submitted nomination forms.
