The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas has received a major boost as the party’s flag bearer for Ibarapa Central/North State Constituency, Hon. Salaudeen Tajudeen Amoo, formally welcomed Hon. Olusola Ayandele, popularly known as Eruobodo, back to the APC.

Hon. Eruobodo, a grassroots politician and mobilizer in Oyo State, announced his return to the progressive fold on Tuesday after a period away from the party. His return is seen by political observers as a strategic realignment that will reshape power dynamics in Ibarapa zone ahead of 2027.

In a welcome statement personally signed by him, Hon. Amoo described Eruobodo’s return as a homecoming and victory for progressive politics.

“On behalf of myself, my campaign organization, and the entire APC family in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North, I warmly welcome my brother, leader, and fellow progressive, Hon. Olusola Ayandele Eruobodo, back to our great party, the All Progressives Congress,” he stated.

“Hon. Eruobodo is not a stranger to progressive ideals. He is a tested and trusted mobilizer, a man of the people, and a political asset whose wealth of experience, loyalty, and grassroots connection is invaluable. His return is a testament to the fact that APC remains the only party that truly accommodates all genuine progressives,” Hon. Amoo added.

The APC standard-bearer said the development signals unity and reconciliation within the Oyo APC, noting that the party is undergoing rebirth and repositioning to reclaim its place in the state.

He said the party leadership maintains an open-door policy and is big enough to accommodate all interests working for the development of Ibarapa and Oyo State.

“This is a big win for us in Ibarapa Central/North. With Hon. Eruobodo back in the fold, our structure has become more formidable, our base more enlarged, and our chances for resounding victory in 2027 have become brighter. We are no longer just a party; we are now a united movement ready to rescue our constituency from underdevelopment,” Amoo declared.

Hon. Amoo called on all party faithful, leaders, stakeholders, women and youth groups across the seven towns of Ibarapa to close ranks and work together in the interest of the party, stressing that there should be no discrimination between old and returning members.

“We must put the past behind us. What matters now is the future of our great party and our people. I urge all our supporters in Igbo-Ora, Idere, Igangan, Tapa, Aiyete and all our wards to receive Hon. Eruobodo with open arms and with love. Let us work as one family,” he appealed.

Political analysts described the move as a masterstroke that will weaken opposition parties in Ibarapa, noting that Eruobodo commands large followership among youths and artisans, a critical voting bloc.

In his response, Hon. Eruobodo was said to have thanked Hon. Amoo for his exemplary leadership and maturity, pledging total loyalty and commitment to work for APC’s success in Ibarapa Central/North and Oyo State.
