OMONIYI FOUNDATION DISSOCIATE FROM FACTIONAL PDP IN IBARAPA CENTRAL.

A political group in the People’s Democratic Party named ‘OMONIYI FOUNDATION ‘ has dissociated itself from what they described as factional or anti-party activity fueled  by the member representing Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency, Hon. Dr Adebayo Adepoju and the Honourable Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy, Otunba Ademola Ojo within the People’s Democratic Party in Ibarapa Central Local Government area of Oyo State. The group condemned the situation and maintained their independence within the party.

The decision was reached at a mass meeting of the group which had in attendance members from block 1, 2 and 3 on Friday 17th October,2025 at Islamic School, Idere.

The group condemned in total, recent factional activities by some members of the party and urged the concerned leaders to join hands together for the progress of the Party and not a personal gain.

In a separate reactions, PDP Party leaders, Pa Olatayo Yekini and Mr Soliu Idowu commended the pragmatic leadership of the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng. Oluseyi Abiodun Makinde in promoting a strong and united party in the state. They lament the agony of the setback form of factional party activities would cause, and thereby condemned the situation.

Addressing the gathering, flounder of OMONIYI FOUNDATION who is a former Special Adviser to the former Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government, Hon. Niyi Ogunbowale frown at the unexpected factional activities within the party in the local government. He called on Party leaders in the local government to maintain the unity syndrome introduced by founding fathers of the Party in the local government to avoid disunity. He lament various disappointing attitudes of the current political leaders towards party faithfuls who labored for their emergence.

Ogunbowale eulogized the various developmental efforts of the Leader and the executive Governor of Oyo State, Eng Seyi Makinde whom he described as a father figure.

The meeting which had in attendance youths and party faithfuls unanimously dissociate itself from any factional group of the current member representing Ibarapa Central and North federal constituency, Hon. Dr Bayo Adepoju and the Commissioner for Local Government and Oyo State Chieftaincy, Otunba Ademola Ojo. They maintain their loyalty to their founder, Hon. Niyi Ogunbowale and passed vote of confidence on Governor Seyi Makinde.
