APC LEADERS FINALIZE ZONING ARRANGEMENT FOR 2027 ELECTIONS IN IBARAPA

Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Ibarapa Central and Ibarapa North Local Government Areas of Oyo State have agreed on a zoning formula for key elective positions ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The resolution was reached during a crucial and well-attended stakeholders’ meeting held at the party secretariat in Igboora. The meeting provided a platform for party leaders to critically examine the factors that contributed to the party’s performance in the 2023 general elections and to strategize on a more united and effective approach moving forward.

After extensive deliberations, it was agreed that aspirants seeking to contest for the Oyo State House of Assembly and the Federal House of Representatives must be credible, loyal party members who enjoy the support and acceptance of the majority within their constituencies. The leaders also stressed the need for a transparent, free, fair, and unbiased selection process to ensure internal democracy and equity within the party.

As part of the arrangement, Ibarapa Central Local Government is to produce the candidate for the State House of Assembly seat, while Ibarapa North Local Government will produce the candidate for the Federal House of Representatives seat in the 2027 elections.

The meeting had in attendance prominent party leaders and stakeholders, including Chief K.O. Jinadu, Alhaji O.M. Abas, Hon. R.O. Ojegoke, Pastor Sunday Orisabukola, Pa L.A. Adeleke, Hon. Adeyemi Jimoh, Mr. Adefabi Yahya, Prince Adeyemi Okeronbi, Mrs. Agnes Ayinde, Mr. Adewuyi Olabode, Chief Olowonmi Raufu O., Mr. Adegboyega Olaniyan, Mr. Basiru Kareem, Chief S.A. Ayanleke, Comrade Wale Gbadamosi, Hon. Stephen A. Ojelere, Mr. Goke Ajayi, Mr. Solomon Olukokun, Hon. Tajudeen Amos Salaudeen, Mr. Raji Rasaki, Mr. John Ojegoke, Hon. Sola Mankide, Alhaji Isiaka Adeoye, Alhaji Isau Adeegbe, Hon. Dayo Aborode, Prince Afeez Oyinloye, and Mr. Matthew Adisa Akintola.

The communiqué was signed by the chairman of the meeting, Chief Francis N. Babalola, and the secretary, Chief T.A.A Adenrenle, as the party reaffirmed its commitment to unity and strategic collaboration ahead of the 2027 general elections.
