Communities across Ibarapa erupted in celebration as Ambassador Engr. (Dr.) David Olusegun Okanlawon, through the Olusegun Okanlawon Foundation (OOF), fulfilled his promise to reward winners of the 2025 sports and academic competitions. Cash prizes were distributed to beneficiaries across the seven towns of the Ibarapa region.

The announcement of the disbursements was confirmed in a statement by Sunday Adedokun Harshasha, Media Aide to Ambassador Okanlawon. Parents, teachers, community leaders, and beneficiaries praised the initiative as a demonstration of Okanlawon’s integrity and his consistent commitment to youth development.

The payments covered winners across major OOF initiatives held in December 2025, including the second edition of the Olusegun Okanlawon Mathematics Competition, the sixth Olusegun Okanlawon Marathon Competition, and the seventh Annual Sports Fiesta, which featured football, draughts, and Ayo Olopon.

OOF officials stated that the prompt disbursement of prizes underscores Okanlawon’s belief that excellence should be rewarded and promises must be honored.

Ambassador Okanlawon, a leading aspirant of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the House of Representatives seat representing Ibarapa Central and North Federal Constituency, has consistently invested in education, sports, and youth empowerment through OOF and the DOO Movement.

As celebrations continue across beneficiary communities, OOF reaffirmed its commitment to expanding these initiatives, with preparations already underway for the 2026 editions. For many young beneficiaries, the cash rewards represent more than financial support, they are validation of hard work, encouragement to pursue excellence, and renewed confidence in leadership that delivers on its promises.
