UNION (IPU) CONDOLES WITH CHIEF IDOWU AKINLEYE OVER LOSS OF MOTHER.

The President of Igboora Progress Union (IPU), Pastor Alex Oladeji, on behalf of the entire IPU, expressed profound sorrow and regret over the passing of the revered mother of Chief Idowu Akinleye, Coordinator, Diaspora Affairs, Mrs Maria Bolomope Abike Akinleye at the age of 93 years. The sad event occurred today, 8th January, 2026.

In a heartfelt condolence message signed by IPU media officer, Tayo Akinyemi, dated 8th January, 2026, Pastor Oladeji described the late Mrs. Maria Bolomope Abike Akinleye as a pillar of strength and a symbol of love, whose legacy would forever be etched in the hearts of those who knew her.

“Our hearts go out to our brother, Chief Idowu Akinleye, and the entire family during this period of immense grief. The demise of Mrs. Maria Bolomope Abike Akinleye is a monumental loss, not only to the Akinleye family but to the entire Igboora community. We pray that the Almighty God grants the family the strength to bear this irreparable loss,” Pastor Oladeji stated.

The IPU President further prayed that the soul of the deceased rests in the bosom of the Almighty, and that her good deeds be a testament to her legacy on earth.

The entire membership of IPU joins in mourning with Chief Idowu Akinleye and the family, wishing them God’s comfort and peace in this difficult hour.
