The 9th edition of the Bashorun Soliu Lawal Foundation’s Ramadan Lecture took place on March 2, 2026, at Igangan, Ibarapa North Local Government area of Oyo State. The event, themed “Patience and Perseverance; Depending Totally on Allah for Conquest,” featured Fadilat Sheikh Ibrahim Anafi (Eleyinle) as the guest lecturer.

Sheikh Anafi commended the founder of the foundation, Hon. Soliu Lawal, for his patience, contentment, and humility, which have enabled him to render humanitarian and selfless service to the Igangan community despite not holding a political office. He also praised the Ashigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Ariwoola, for his simplicity and humility, describing him as a leader who puts his trust in Allah.

The cleric emphasized that patience, perseverance, tolerance, and trust in Allah are essential virtues for a successful life, as taught in Ramadan. He noted that desperation in life without confidence in Allah leads to vanity, while dedication of every undertaking to Allah leads to success. “We must trust and wait for destiny to work for our fortune instead of desperation,” he advised.

Sheikh Anafi urged leaders to emulate Hon. Soliu Lawal’s patience and humility, which have made the lecture a meaningful gathering. He also advised politicians to focus on programs that touch lives and promote humanity.

In his response, Hon. Soliu Lawal thanked Allah for the opportunity to host the lecture and clarified that his humanitarian efforts were not politically motivated. He cited the ongoing construction of classrooms at Igangan High School as an example of his commitment to community development.

The event was attended by dignitaries, including His Majesty , Ashigangan of Igangan, Oba Rafiu Ariwoola, Hon. Jimoh Lukmon, Hon. Shittu Ibrahim, Hon.
