One Year After Inauguration, Eleruwa Reflects on Leadership, Appreciates Makinde’s Support

The Eleruwa of Eruwaland, His Royal Majesty Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola, Ajobo Olurin I, has reflected on his first year on the throne, calling for sustained unity among the people while acknowledging the support of the Oyo State Government toward the development of Eruwa.
Oba Adegbola made the remarks while speaking at an event held to commemorate the first anniversary of his installation and presentation of the Staff of Office as the 17th Eleruwa of Eruwa.
The monarch expressed gratitude to God and appreciation to the people of Eruwaland for their support, loyalty and prayers since his ascension to the throne on March 6, 2025.
According to the royal father, the past year has been dedicated to strengthening unity and fostering harmony across the community through dialogue, reconciliation and engagement with different stakeholders.
He noted that the responsibility of occupying the revered stool of Eleruwa comes with the duty to uphold the customs and cultural values of the land while working toward the progress of the people.
As part of the activities marking the anniversary, the Director of Media and Public Communications to the Eleruwa of Eruwa, Sunday Adedokun, spoke with journalists on Friday, explaining that the occasion provides an opportunity to highlight the cultural relevance of the Eleruwa institution and its role in community development.
He noted that the palace remains committed to projecting the heritage of Eruwaland while promoting peace, unity and cooperation among the people.
The monarch also expressed appreciation to the high chiefs, kingmakers, elders, youths, women groups, religious leaders and indigenes of Eruwa both at home and abroad for their continued support toward sustaining the dignity of the traditional institution.
Oba Adegbola particularly commended the Oyo State Government for its cooperation with the palace and the community.
He praised the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his prompt response to requests presented during the coronation activities and for his commitment to the development of Eruwa within the past year.
The royal father therefore called on the people of Eruwa to appreciate the governor for his support and sustained interest in the growth of the town.
Speaking on security within the community, the monarch urged residents to remain security conscious and mindful of their environment.
He also advised residents to avoid unnecessary late-night movements, stressing that peace and safety require collective responsibility from everyone in the community.
Oba Adegbola reaffirmed his commitment to serve Eruwaland with humility, fairness and dedication, while continuing to uphold the traditions of the land.
He further called on sons and daughters of Eruwa to remain united and committed to the shared progress of the community.
The monarch concluded by praying for continued peace, stability and prosperity in Eruwaland, the Ibarapa region and Oyo State at large.
