The Igboora Progress Union (IPU) has donated sets of office furniture to the Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Area F Command, Igboora, on Saturday, January 10, 2026.

At the brief ceremony held at the Area Command, the President of IPU, Pastor Alex Oladeji, accompanied by other executives, expressed appreciation to the command for providing internal security to Igboora and the entire Ibarapa region. He noted that the concerns of the Union necessitated the fulfillment of the gesture within 24 hours of the request.

Oladeji said, “When we visited here, what we saw touched our hearts; but that didn’t touch our hearts as much as your emotional reminder to us. This was why the executive gave accelerated approval and procurement within 24 hours, not minding the cost. By the grace of God, this is the beginning of our relationship, not only with you or your command, but with other security agents.”

He added, “When Igboora Progress Union was Igboora Literary and Progressive Union (ILPU), we were known for developmental projects. Igboora High School, the first secondary school in Ibarapa, was one of their projects, and several other monumental projects. Now that we are back, you will enjoy our relationship. We want to request more about internal security of our land. Adequate security and permanent restoration of electricity back to our land is very germane and crucial to us at the moment. On behalf of Igboora Progress Union, I present to you this set of office furniture for the use of your command and advancement of Igboora communities.”

In his remarks, the Area Commander, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, Area F Command, Igboora, ACC Olafisoye Victor Adesola, appreciated the donation, describing it as a “progress gift” from IPU. He applauded the proactive response despite the short notice and assured the Union of improved service delivery towards the protection of lives and properties in Ibarapa communities.

ACC Adesola welcomed the IPU to NSCDC, Area F Command, Igboora, saying, “I’m happy to welcome you to NSCDC, Area F Command, Igboora, Oyo State. It’s indeed a thing of joy that your union has extended your progressive hands to our office. We sincerely appreciate you on behalf of the Oyo State Commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defense Corps, CC Augustine Padonu. Your wonderful gesture is a catalyst to improve on our services to the community and entire area of coverage. We promise that we shall reciprocate with quality service delivery.”

He further stated, “We cannot but appreciate some organizations that have rendered help to our office in the past, but of note since I assumed office was the donation of 4 plastic chairs by Tipper Lorry Association Igboora. Their donation was timely, just as your huge donation. We cannot but appreciate the Executive Chairman of Ibarapa Central Local Government for his listening ears; our proposal for the construction of an armoury in this office is before him now. It is our belief that your influence in this regard can fast-track the approval and implementation process.”

The Area Commander concluded by reiterating his appreciation for the donation and welcoming the IPU to NSCDC, Area F Command, Igboora.

In company of the IPU Chairman are members of the committee, which include , Dr. Jide Olaopa (Secretary), Rev. Sanya Akinlade (VP 1), Alhaji Moshood Salami (VP II), Alhaja Muibat Oguntowo, Prince Bolu Oke and Prince Tayo Akinyemi.
