Idofin ushers new Era, as Aro Clan Unites: Historic Meeting Brokers Peace, Elects New Chairman, and Unveils 10-Year Development Plan.

Chief Idowu Akinleye, the Olofin of Idofin, has on Tuesday , 10th February 2026 brokered peace between the four sections of the Aro clan in Idofin, Igboora.

The gathering, held at the Aro Hall, aimed to resolve lingering conflicts between the leadership of Aro Idowu, Aro Majaro, Aro Ogunleti, and Aro Opanike.

In his opening remarks, Chief Idowu Akinleye who moderated the peace meeting, emphasized the importance of love and unity for meaningful development, highlighting the need for the Aro clan to work together to have a competitive advantage over neighboring communities. He emphasize that the peace initiative is a significant step towards resolving conflicts and promoting unity within the Aro clan.

Chief Akinleye expressed concern over distortion of the potent history of Idofin, which must be repositioned.

The issues raised by the conflicting parties included structure manipulation, monitoring of executives with check and balance, and other related matters. This peace initiative according to him, is a significant step towards resolving conflicts and promoting unity within the Aro clan.

The Aro Dynasty also resolved to return to a constituted rotational executive, which will be monitored in conformance with checks and balances under the directives of the Board of Trustees and the Congress.

key outcome of the meeting was the emergence of Mr. Ogunjimi Ibrahim from Aro Opanike clan as the Chairman, Aro Descendants for a period of 4 years.

A ’10 years development action plan’ was unveiled, focusing on the general development of Idofin Community.

Traditional heads at the meeting include the Aro of Idofin, Chief Itanola Lateef, Chief J.P Okunlola, Chief Ogunjimi Adeola, Chief Adeniyi Sikiru, Yeye Oluwatoyin Akinleye, Chief Imam of Idofin among others.
