METHODIST CHURCH NIGERIA, DIOCESE OF IBARAPA SETS TO HOLD MAIDEN HARVEST PROGRAMME

Methodist Church Nigeria, Diocese of Ibarapa has announced her preparations to hold maiden edition of harvest programme on Sunday, October 12, 2025 at Rev’d. Longley Memorial Methodist Cathedral, Oke-Agogo, Igboora.

The Diocesan Bishop, Rt. Rev’d. Dr. Sunday Johnson Funminiyi, JP had directed all ministers to mobilise members of their churches to the cathedral by 10am on Sunday for the programme.

The programme will be attended by the Diocesan Lay President, Chief Olufemi Adegbaye Adesope, Diocesan Executives and other stakeholders in the church.

Recalled that the Diocese was inaugurated by the Prelate of Methodist Church Nigeria, Dr. Oliver Ali Aba, JP on March 4, 2025, while the Rt. Rev’d. Dr. Sunday Johnson Funminiyi, JP was enthroned as the Bishop and Chief Olufemi Adesope was presented as the Lay President.

Since the inauguration, the Church has successfully held programmes which include synod, retreats, crusades, conferences, maintaining a good standing in the conference area of Methodist Church Nigeria.

The maiden harvest programme of the church is themed “Harvest of Divine Multiplication”, with scriptural reference from the book of Luke, Chapter 3 verse 38.

The Chairman of the Harvest Committee, Mr. Mathew Muyiwa Olayinka explained that influential figures will attend the programme as guests of honour.

He noted that the harvest programme symbolises celebration of fruits of labour among members of the church, marking a season of gratitude and reflection of God’s provision.

“We will gather to celebrate God’s blessing for us and we aim to do so with joy and faithfulness” the Harvest Committee Chairman added.
