The Igboora Progress Union (IPU) Rebirth Group has extended a clarion call to Igboora Traditional rulers, other stakeholders, including all sons and daughters of Igboora, both at home and in the diaspora, to participate in a historic Igboora Community Assembly for the rebirth of the IPU. The event is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 27th December 2025, at the Igbo-Ora Town Hall, starting at exactly 11:00 am.
In a release co-signed by the Chairman of the Planning Committee and the Secretary, Very Rev. Dr. Oloyede Olanipekun and Alhaja Muibat Oguntowo, respectively, as made available to Asako News, the event – an assembly of all sons and daughters of Igboora – will witness the formal inauguration of a fifteen-member Interim Steering Committee (ISC), which shall midwife a renewed and rebranded Igboora Progress Union as an umbrella body for all socio-cultural associations in the town and chart a clear, all-inclusive, and sustainable way forward.
The Igboora Progress Union (IPU), has in the past facilitated numerous developmental projects through communal efforts as well as being the architect behind the progress of Igboora in other spheres, acting as the springboard for the establishment of many educational and health institutions in the town.
According to the planning committee:
“The IPU Rebirth Group gratefully acknowledges past and ongoing efforts by concerned indigenes, under the able leadership of our revered Kabiyesis, to revive our erstwhile vibrant and impactful Igboora Progress union and sustain developmental efforts.
“The landmark gathering is thus convened for the formal take-off of a revitalized IPU with the formal inauguration of a fifteen-member Interim Steering Committee (ISC). This Committee will midwife a renewed and rebranded Igboora Progress Union as an umbrella body for all socio-cultural associations in the town and to chart a clear, all-inclusive and sustainable way forward for the social, economic, educational and infrastructural development of our community.
“At a time when collective responsibility and shared vision are urgently needed, this Assembly provides a unique platform for dialogue and collaboration on the way forward.
“This Assembly of all sons and daughters of Igboora is scheduled to hold on Saturday, 27th December 2025, at the Igbo-Ora Town Hall starting at exactly 11.00 am.
“On behalf of the IPU Working Team and the Interim Steering Committee, we respectfully request the honor of the presence of all stakeholders at this momentous event and look forward to our patriotic collaboration to build a brighter future for Igboora”, the committee concluded.
