The ancient town of Eruwa was filled with spiritual energy today as His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola Ajobo Olurin I, the Eleruwa of Eruwa, led a profound Thanksgiving Service at Araromi Baptist Church, Oke Oba. He was joined by congregants, dignitaries, and fellow monarchs for an event that underscored the enduring power of divine decrees.

The service centered around the powerful message titled “What God Says Matters: Hope and Resilience in Adversity,” delivered by Rev’d Dr. S. Ola Abioye. From the hallowed auditorium of Araromi Baptist Church, Rev’d Dr. Abioye drew rich lessons from Acts 28:1-31, meticulously detailing Apostle Paul’s arduous journey to Rome. He highlighted Paul’s steadfast faith through shipwreck, venomous snakebite, and even imprisonment, emphasizing that God’s presence is constant, miracles are real, and opportunities for ministry can emerge from adversity.

Rev’d Dr. Abioye declared with conviction, “Jesus has the final say no matter what anybody is saying or says.” He captivated the congregation with a memorable illustration of a Deputy, unfairly labeled illiterate, who was eventually uplifted as “grace spoke for the Deputy.” This very Deputy, whose story became an emblem of divine vindication, was present at the Eleruwa’s coronation. This powerful anecdote cemented the sermon’s core assertion is “Whatsoever anyone says doesn’t matter but what God says matters most.”

The message also included a contemplative thought, reminding the congregation that “When one passes through tribulations, one’s identity and name change simultaneously, people will begin to call you different names.” Rev’d Dr. Abioye’s sermon offered crucial lessons for all present, especially for the royal celebrant. He emphasized God’s presence in adversity, the importance of faith and resilience, the power of miracles and healing, and the potential for opportunities even in confining circumstances. Notably, he concluded his key points with a direct charge to Kabiesi, encouraging him to deepen his commitment to the unwavering progress and well-being of Eruwa Kingdom and its cherished people.

Following the inspiring word, Rev’d Dr. Adegbite, Minister-in-charge of Araromi Baptist Church, expressed heartfelt gratitude to God and all attendees. Rev. T. O. Adelakun then offered a special prayer, seeking divine blessings of prosperity and peace upon His Royal Majesty, Oba Samuel Adebayo Adegbola Ajobo Olurin I, and the entire Eruwa community.

The thanksgiving service drew a distinguished array of traditional rulers and prominent personalities, symbolizing widespread regard and support for the Eleruwa. Among the notable figures present were Oba Jimoh Olajide Titiloye Asoro-olu Ayinla V, Olu of Igboora Land; Oba Jamiu Adedamola Badmus (JP) Ayeleso III, Olu-Aso of Iberekodo; Oba Sunday Bolawaye Oladejo Oguntayi II, Onilala of Lanlate; Oba John Oyekola Bolarinwa Ajagungbade II, Onigboho of Igboho; and Oba Emmanuel Okeniyi, Asawo of Ayete.
