Barr. Opeyemi Tijani Congratulates Sen. Akintunde on his Appointment as South West Development Commission Committee Chairman, Lauds President Tinubu’s two years in office
An Ibarapa-born and member of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State, Barrister Opeyemi Tijani (BOT), has extended warm congratulations to Senator Yunus Akintunde on his significant appointment as the Chairman of the Senate Committee on the South West Development Commission (SWDC).
Barrister Tijani described Senator Akintunde’s elevation to this pivotal role as “a testament to his proven dedication, legislative acumen, and unwavering commitment to the socio-economic advancement of not just the South West region, but Nigeria as a whole.”
“This appointment is both well-deserved and strategically sound,” stated Barr. Tijani. “Senator Akintunde brings a wealth of experience, deep understanding of regional developmental challenges, and a genuine passion for public service to this critical position. His track record demonstrates a consistent focus on infrastructure, human capital development, and policies that foster inclusive growth. I am confident that under his leadership, the Committee will provide the necessary legislative drive and oversight to ensure the SWDC effectively fulfills its mandate of accelerating development across the South Western states.”
Barr. Tijani seized the opportunity to commend President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration as it marks its second year in office. He specifically linked Senator Akintunde’s appointment to the President’s broader vision for national development and regional equity.
“The appointment of a capable and experienced leader like Senator Akintunde to steer the SWDC Committee aligns perfectly with President Tinubu’s focus on restructuring governance for greater effectiveness and prioritizing regional development initiatives,” Barr. Tijani remarked. “As we reflect on the administration’s two-year milestone, this strategic placement underscores the President’s commitment to entrusting key national assignments to competent hands who understand the specific needs of their regions.”
He further lauded the appointment itself as “a positive step forward,” expressing optimism that Senator Akintunde’s tenure would catalyze tangible progress in infrastructure, economic opportunities, and social services for the people of the South West.
“We congratulate Senator Akintunde once again. We are confident his leadership will be impactful and beneficial to our region and nation. This appointment, under President Tinubu’s guidance, signals a renewed focus on harnessing regional potential for national prosperity,” Barr. Tijani stated.
Barrister Tijani concluded by reiterating his confidence in Senator Akintunde’s ability to excel in his new role and wished him resounding success. He urged all stakeholders to support the Committee and the nascent SWDC in their vital mission to transform the developmental landscape of South West Nigeria.
